HAROLD DEGELMAN
April 10, 1926 - December 27, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harold Degelman, peacefully, with his loving family by his side on December 27 at the age of 96.
Harold was predeceased by his wife Olga and son Warren.
He leaves to mourn his daughter Karen Leaf (Wayne); son Lyle Degelman (Fran); daughter-in-law Eva Degelman; grandchildren, Christina Walgreen (Justin), Amy McLeod (Ben), Chris Degelman (Kasia), Jenny Moore Bunney (Chris); great-grandchildren, Ella, Harper, Blake, Nixon and Brooke.
Dad was born and raised in the Morden area. He moved to Winnipeg at an early age, met the love of his life Olga and settled down to get married and raise their family.
Dad was a master plasterer by profession and started his own business doing plaster and stucco work.
One of Dad's great passions was for the outdoors, enjoying fishing and hunting. not only with his family, but his friends (you know who you are). Dad and Mom loved to come out to Gibi Lake to enjoy fishing and enjoy family time with his grandchildren. Upon retirement Mom and Dad travelled to many places to explore and fish, but going to Alaska was one of their lifelong memories with camper and boat in tow, catching salmon and exploring.
The last few years were rough on him, as dementia was settling in and also Covid 19.
Dad we love you and will miss your presence, but we know you are at peace now reunited with Mom and Warren and loved ones.
Graveside service to be held Thursday January 5, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., at Green Acres Funeral Home, 1 Green Acres Lane, Hwy # 1 East at Navin Rd. Reception to follow.
We wish to thank the staff at Beacon Hill Lodge, 5th floor, for the loving care they provided him.

So sorry to hear of Harold's passing. My sisters and I are just beginning to learn more about our Degelman family. Our mom and dad were Paul and Arvilla Degelman from Fort Frances, Ontario. We believe Our Grandfather Frank Degelman and Harold were half brothers. We think that their dad Leo had three wives. We have heard the Dedemus and Moore names along the way but know nothing more than that. From Harold's picture, I believe I can see some family resemblance to our dad Paul who also enjoyed hunting and fishing and time at the lake. We seem to recall visiting your home, in Transcona or South Transcona I think, as very young children. I thought I would just reach out to let you know we are still "out there" and relay my email and phone number should there ever be a Family Reunion or a family tree to share, or perhaps a visit over coffee in the future.
