ANNE MYSKIW
August 1, 1939 – January 2, 2023

Anne Myskiw passed away peacefully on Monday, January 2, 2023, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre in Steinbach, MB, at the age of 83.
She is survived by her husband William (Bill) Myskiw of 65 years.
She was predeceased by her parents Wasyl and Christina Bilawsky and brother Eugene Bilawsky.
Anne was born and raised on the family farm in Zhoda, MB. From an early age she enjoyed farming life. Some of her chores included milking cows, tending to the garden, picking berries and mushrooms and preparing and cooking a lot of delicious meals. She liked contributing any way she could to the homestead.
Anne began dating Bill when she was 17 and got married approximately one year later on October 26, 1957. They lived with her parents for a few years before getting their own plot of land and started farming together. Over the many years Anne worked tirelessly to help raise cows, chickens and pigs, grew a large vegetable garden and maintained the yard. She loved being active and enjoyed being outdoors.
She loved to dance. Many a time when all the chores were done they would go to dances in small communities around Zhoda and would dance until the band stopped playing. When there was nowhere to go out, they stayed home and listened to the "zabava" program and "polka party" on the radio and danced around the kitchen.
Later in life Anne remained active. She loved family and friends visiting and sharing stories of days gone by. If you stopped by their house at the right time you probably left with some tomatoes, cucumbers or onions fresh from the garden or maybe a jar or two of pickles. She also loved all her pets. She would tell you stories in great detail about her cats, where they went, when they came home and how many birds or mice they caught. Anne lived a long full life and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service for Anne will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.
