GABRIEL (GABBY) ST. VINCENT
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, dad, pépère, brother, and friend who passed away peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital on Thursday February 2, 2023, at the age of 71.
Gabby was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Cecile (Nadeau); his sister Rose Marie; and his brothers, Jeannot and Gerald.
Gabby will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 30 years, Patricia Simister (née Desaulniers); his children, Danielle (Shane), Mireille, and Eric (Kristen), their children, Chloé, Alyxe, Yves, Maksim, Chaise and Solange; his stepchildren Mike (Caroline) and Dan (Kristina), and their children, Griffin, Brody, Claire and Ray. He is survived by his siblings, Marguerite (Pierre), Roger (Ida), Gilbert (Caroline), Florence (Chester), Jacqueline (Wilfred), Nicole (George), Jacques (Gisele), and Suzanne (George); and sisters-in-law, Denise and Rita. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Gabby was born in Altona on June 2, 1951. He grew up on the farm and with so many siblings there was never a shortage for a game of pickup hockey. This initiated his love of sports, whether from the bench as the coach to his daughters' ringette teams, from the stands at his son's hockey games, receiving post-game updates on his grandkids activities, from the recliner watching his Habs, Jets, Jays and Bombers, or when placing $2 bets with anyone who'd bite.
His appreciation and love of the outdoors undoubtedly influenced his career choice in the sheet metal trade, for which he was proud to have his son follow. While in Falcon Lake, he took pride in grooming the trails and stoking the hottest fires possible.
His wit and sense of humour will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Cremation has taken place and a come-and-go Celebration of Life will be held at the Club Jovial, 157 Central Avenue, in Ste. Anne MB, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., on February 10, 2023, with a private interment to be held at a later date.
Many thanks to Dr. Jassal and his team at the St. Boniface Hospital Acute Cardiac Care Unit. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gabby's memory to Cardiac Care at the St. Boniface Hospital.

Vatos Locos. Crazy Men!! was Gabby & Gord’s way of saying hello - a fun Mexican greeting they had! Our Heartfelt loss of our dear Friend Gabby is so painful. We had the experience of great laughter, travelling to PV, Mexico and having a wonderful time. Karaoke, (he sang a good Johnny Cash). we sure sang a lot and had fun at that too! Camping and travelling you bet!! The four of us had the best road trip ever! Living down south in Florida, great fun & memories! Gord misses his Buddy so very much, and me, well who the hell am I gonna argue with now Gabby!!! Pat & Gord we’re the mediators lol. All kidding aside. You were a very kind and genuine friend, the biggest Montreal Canadien Fan I ever knew! We will miss you So much!! And We will have you in our hearts forever Gabby. With our Sincere heartfelt Condolences to Pat and his Children and his Family, with Love Gord & Jackie & Keo -our Pet Dog.
