WAYNE KOSS

With heavy hearts we announce that Wayne passed away peacefully at home, March 10, 2023, with his family at his side.
Wayne is survived by his wife Dianne, of 62 years; sons, Drew (Lisa) and Kyle (Charlene); daughter Kelly; grandchildren, Ashley (Dan), Haley (Del), Kaela, and Keagan; great-grandsons, Finn and Parker. Wayne was predeceased by his parents and his brother Denis.
Wayne worked for Winnipeg Hydro for 34 years, retiring in 1995 which left more time for his true passion, working on custom cars; more specifically his '55 Chevy that he owned since 1965. Throughout the years he worked through many modifications personalizing his beloved car influenced by changing styles. Wayne was an early member of the Fifty 567 car club, joining in the early 1970s. Weekend car shows, road trips, and cruise nights became a family way of life.
If anyone wanted to find Dad you went straight to the garage where he spent countless hours working on not only his car but assisting his sons build their cars. He also helped other car club members, then enjoyed a Budweiser while admiring work well done. Wayne was also a passionate Bomber fan, which he also passed on to his family. To his friends he was known as Captain Bud, which encapsulates his love for cars and Budweiser. The relationships built in the car club extend past Wayne's time as an active member. The community of people, in particular Tim, Bill, and Don meant just as much as the cars themselves.

Rest in peace Captain Bud.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the MS Society of Manitoba.
A Celebration of Life will take place from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Sinclair Park Community Club, 490 Sinclair Street at Church Avenue. • I met Wayne at a car show in early 70's and instantly enjoyed talking to him about cars, He had a vast knowledge about them. We became good friends over the years. I always will remember his smile as you walked up to him. Rest in Peace Bud. Cuvey - Posted by: Don Cuvelier (Friend.) on: Mar 19, 2023

  • Wayne has been one of my closet friends since 1982. The first time I met Wayne was at the World of Wheels. I had just moved down from Thompson and had some travel money in my pocket. My 57 was a newly rebuilt, Wayne, Bill and I struck up a car conversation. I suggested we get a beer and since I had some "free" money, I would buy. Wayne never left my side all afternoon. Wayne, you were a good listener, car and beer buddy but most of all a great friend. I'll miss everything you brought into my life. CUL8ER. - Posted by: Tim Salisbury (Friend) on: Mar 18, 2023
