JACK HARVEY GRASSIE
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sad passing of Jack following a short, courageous battle with cancer, just one day after his 76th birthday.
Jack left this world peacefully to be reunited with his beloved, eldest son Brent; his parents, George and Sarah; his parents-in-law, Joyce, Orris and Connie Steinburg and cousins, Jim Probetts and Mary Grassie.
Left to mourn and cherish Jack’s memory are Donna, his loving wife of 50 years; his sons, Sean and Scott who will deeply miss their Dad; Scott’s wife Jenn who Jack loved as a daughter, and his most precious grandchildren, Cielo and Maximo.

A truly gentle soul with a wry sense of humour, and good friend at DMCI. You've left me with fond memories, thank you. - Posted by: Ihor Pona (Friend) on: May 01, 2023

My condolences To the Grassie family and the extended friends and family of which he had many. Reading through the commemorations I read about how kind and considerate he was which I know to be very true and what a great curling coach he was which I'm sure is also true but I am not familiar with that part of his life although I know coaching Sean was one of the loves of his life and how proud he was of Sean's accomplishments. However we need to represent tennis which is another sport he loved. I know Jack through tennis playing as I did at Deer Lodge for a few years and also men's doubles at Taylor for the last few years. My fondest memory of Jack is playing a league match with with him at Deer lodge. In the deciding set I was up 5-0 and 15-0....and I preceded to lose the set 7-5. After the match he put his arms around my shoulder and said "Larry, I want to give you a lesson on getting mentally tougher and closing out a match" Jack is always the teacher in curling and tennis. I never took him up in his offer but I did take some lessons from Sean. RIP Jack. May all your draws be to the button and all your serves aces. - Posted by: Larry Harder (Tennis friend) on: Apr 25, 2023

Pat and I are so saddened to hear of Jack’s passing. He was such a kind and gentle soul! I hadn’t seen him out walking in our neighborhood for quite some time, but had no idea that he had become ill. He was always so proud of his family and it was always great to catch up with him whenever our paths crossed. Our deepest condolences go out to you Donna and to your family. May happy memories of days gone by bring you peace. He will be missed. With love and sympathy, Susan and Pat Flynn - Posted by: Susan Flynn (Friend) on: Apr 15, 2023
