NORINE BRAND
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, Norine Brand, at the age of 93.
Mom was born in Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan. At the age of six, she moved to the family farm near Wellwood, Manitoba. She was a farm girl at heart and loved watching the gorgeous prairie sunsets. She moved to Winnipeg as a young woman, eventually working for the Dominion Bank, where she met her husband, John. They raised their daughters, Audrey, and Lois, in Winnipeg, Brandon, Saskatoon, and Regina. Although she was quiet and rather shy, mom made many dear friends in each city they lived in and kept in touch with them for many years. Mom was an amazing seamstress, sewing most of her family‘s clothes. The hum of her sewing machine was a comforting sound often heard late into the evening. Mom loved gardening and we knew spring had arrived when she started a multitude of tomato plants to share with family and friends. Mom had a deep and abiding Christian faith. She and dad enjoyed weekly Bible study groups.
Mom will be deeply missed by her daughters, Audrey (Larry) Labelle and Lois Doran, her grandchildren, Trevor Clark, Stuart and Jessica Doran, her sisters, Phyllis Raitt, Marg (Harry) Craig, Marilyn (Merv) Letts, sister-in-law Una Mountain, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her husband, John, her parents, Nettie and Bill Jones, her brother, Rud Jones, son-in-law, Doug Doran, and brother-in-law Jim Raitt.
For the last few years, Mom resided at Middlechurch Home. The family is so grateful to all of the staff, particularly the staff on B1 for the compassion and excellent care she received.
At Mom’s request, there will be no formal service. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing may make a donation to Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg.

If Audrey reads this please contact me again as the number I have written down is not in service. Rest in peace with John, Norinne! - Posted by: Vivian Overton (God-daughter ) on: Dec 12, 2023

On behalf of the Church Consistory and its congregation we would like to express our condolences to the daughters and extended family of Noreen Brand. Noreen was a faithful member and participant at Place of Grace Church. She attended Bible Studies and other fellowship functions faithfully. She watered our plants for many years and was a supportive wife while her husband John was part of our leadership team. She was very kind and friendly in her own quiet way. It is comforting to know that she will be with her Lord and Saviour for eternity. - Posted by: Ray Algera (Church Elder (Friend)) on: Apr 17, 2023
