After a long and full life Millie passed away peacefully at the age of 98 at the Tudor Personal Care Home on February 14, 2023. She was born on November 20, 1924 in Winnipeg.
Left to cherish her memory is her brother Gordon (Barb), her sister-in-in-law Maimie Pfeifer, and many nieces and nephews who were all very dear to her.
Millie was predeceased by her husband Lorne and her parents, Nicholas and Victoria; brothers, George (Lillian), William (Norma), Thomas (Muriel), and sister Frances Taylor (Roy).
She grew up on the wilds of the St. Andrews bog during the dirty thirties. Being the oldest, she helped her mom raise five siblings. She actually did walk the fabled four miles to Norwood school in all kinds of weather. After she finished school, Millie went to work in Winnipeg as a dental assistant.
The Kizuiks moved to Netley in 1945 and started a small farm. It was here that she met the love of her life Lorne Kreamer and they were married in 1959. Lorne and Millie started their own grain farming venture. She helped her mom and dad being custodians of Netley School. She also worked at Maskow’s store in Netley. During this time Millie also became involved in local activities and spent many hours in support of the Netley Community Club. Millie lived most of her life in Netley, and moved into Selkirk around 2008.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Millie’s life will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB.
The family would like to thank the staff at Tudor Personal Care Home for excellent care and friendship they gave to Millie.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. George’s Wakefield Anglican Church or Netley Community Club.
