May he Rest in Peace. I am very fortunate to have nice memories visiting The Farm. Our Grandmother Pauline would take us for a visit - speeding in her Torino - arriving to the smells of Borscht cooking. Great Grandma, Uncle Tony and Auntie Ann sitting on the front stairs. Their dog - Hobo - would nip me in the butt - gently - I would get scared and The Uncles would laugh to get me to laugh too! They would give me a few eggs to feed Hobo! A dinner table filled with family and everything Ukrainian to eat! Watching Uncle Albert helping deliver the baby piglets, looking for eggs and feeding some cows was part of a wonderful time at The Farm. A long time ago, but memories held dear. I have helped Ukrainians who have just arrived to get established all because of this heritage. I recall stories of The family arriving at the train station in Winnipeg arriving from the Ukraine to start their new life in Arborg. Thank you. R.I.
