RANDOLPH EMMANUEL BAGOT
Randolph Emmanuel Bagot, a devoted son, brother, uncle, husband, father, and grandfather. Blessed by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, passed peacefully in his sleep at the age of 77 years old in his home in Winnipeg, Manitoba on April 4, 2023.
Randolph was born on April 20, 1945, in 78 Village, Corentyne, Berbice, Guyana. The first born to the late Baljit Hulbert and Gladys Albertha Bagot. He was the eldest of 10 children. Randolph attended Auchlyne Scotts School, the Technical Training School in Port Mourant, and went to Georgetown Technical Institute where he graduated as a Journeyman Electrician. He started his work career in Guyana with Albion Sugar Estate and Sprostons Shipping Company, travelling the Caribbean as an Electrical Engineer on one of their ships. His technical skills and knowledge were second to none, with one of his claims to fame being that he was one of the youngest electrical contractors in Guyana's history. He was a jack of all trades, and master of all. Randolph immigrated to Canada in 1974. He started working at Western Elevator, and ended his career at Versatile as the Maintenance Supervisor.
Randolph was married to Sumintra (Sheila) Narine on April 18, 1975. He will be tremendously and deeply missed by his children, Urania Emma Singh (Dannie), Olivia Miranda Lalman (Brian) and Jonathan Jerome Bagot (Kuldeep); his six grandchildren, Samara, Jayden, Ethan, Linnea, Zian, and Noah. He was excited to meet his seventh grandchild (a boy) expected in June.
His siblings - Ruth (Gurdeep), Denis (Vicky), Mary (late Joseph), Samuel (Rita), Elizabeth (Oscar), Camelia (Walter), Peter (Acklima), Lilian (Gary), and David (Preya). Brother-in-law of Kamla (Deenanauth), late Indra, Seepaul (Anita), Rita (Vickram), Cheitram (Ceilo), Urvasi (Prakesh), and late Ramesh. Son-in-law of late Ouditnarine and Rookmattie Sarabjeet.
Randolph was an outdoorsman; he loved camping, fishing, and hunting. Later in life, he enjoyed travelling with his wife and spending time with his family and friends. He always told stories of his childhood growing up in Guyana, which were always riveting, his laughter and sense of humour will never be forgotten. He genuinely enjoyed helping others, he was the first one many people called when in need of advice or a handyman. His leadership, mentorship, and friendship will be greatly missed not only by his family but to all whose lives he was fortunate to touch.
A visitation for Randolph will be held Friday, April 14, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg, MB.
