TERESA (TERRY) SCOTT

(nee MOORE)

January 7, 1948 - April 9, 2023

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our wife, mother and gramma. Terry passed away Easter Sunday at Stonewall hospital in the arms of her loving husband of 57 years, Jim.

Terry was the only child of Curt and Kathleen Moore. She was born and raised in Stonewall and moved to Stony Mountain not long after getting married. This is where she and Jim raised their three kids. Terry was always a hard worker and enjoyed working in the mining equipment sales business for many years. Terry enjoyed her getaways to the United States shopping and spending winters in Phoenix. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Terry will be greatly missed by her husband and best friend Jim; her son Rob (Chris); grandson R.J.; her daughter Tarra (Mitch Poirier); granddaughter Dakota (Anthony Vogiatzakis) and grandson Dawson Poirier; as well her three nieces and a nephew. She was predeceased by her youngest son Clint in 2021 with whom she is now reunited; her parents, Curt and Kathleen Moore; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Rlee and Ralph Gilson.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.

Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • Heartfelt condolences to Jim and the family. As a hairstylist to Terry I saw her every 5 weeks for many years and considered her family. We shared many smiles, tears and many hours talking about the Blue Bombers and Blue Jays which we both had many coaching opinions on. Terry will be missed in my chair but also in my life as I truly adored her. Rest in peace my friend. - Posted by: Jennifer Reichert (Friend and hairstylist ) on: Apr 25, 2023

  • We were very sorry to hear about Terry's recent passing. Terry & I spent several enjoyable years working together at Nelson Machinery, in the late '70s and early '80s, I lost touch with Terry after moving away to B.C. but, happily, we were able to renew our friendship in recent years, thanks to social media. Terry was a very family-oriented person. She was a great mom for her children and a loving wife to Jim. Our sincere condolences, Dennis & Judy McTavish - Posted by: Dennis (former work colleague and friend) on: Apr 21, 2023

  • Terry and I were best friends growing up in Stonewall. We played Cards, board games and cut out dolls by the hours. Then Kinsmen Lake opened, and we were there from morning till night every day. Terry won a beauty contest they held at the opening. We also spent many hours cruising up and down Main Street in Terry’s dad’s car. We lost touch for many years, but reconnected a few years ago. The world has lost a great lady. Sincerest sympathy to Jim, and their family and friends. - Posted by: Jim and Norma Neufeld (Friends) on: Apr 18, 2023
