JAMES (JIM) ALLAN WHITE

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of James Allan White (Jim) on February 8, 2023.

Dad was born December 4, 1938 in Winnipeg and is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maureen (née Doll), the love of his life and best friend; his two loving sons, Bradley (Sheila) and his two adorable grandchildren, James and Emma of Santa Barbara, CA and Brent of Winnipeg, his daughter-in-law Kirsti Knight also of Winnipeg; his loving sister Joan Kelly and sister-in-law Dawne Doll.

He was predeceased by his mother Mabel White (née McLellan), his sister and brother-in-law Sandra and Ron Morrison, and brother-in-law Pat Kelly, mother and father-in-law Malvina (née Pruden) and Beggie Doll, brothers-in-law, Jonas and Wesley and sister-in-law Linda Doll, also by two nephews, Ronnie Morrison and Howard Doll.

Dad was a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law and Poppa, there was nothing he wouldn’t do for his family, he adored them and was so proud of his boys in all their achievements and the careers they have chosen. Dad taught school at Sturgeon Creek and retired from the St. James School Board office.

The family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Health Care Centre for the kindness and compassion shown towards our dad during his stay there and also the compassion shown towards our mom.

We love you and miss you, you will never be forgotten and your grandchildren will always know everything about you.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Saturday, April 22, at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline Street, Selkirk, MB. The service will be livestreamed via a link in his obituary at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers (if so desired) a donation in Jim’s memory can be made to Ronald McDonald House, CancerCare or a charity of your choice.

Condolences may be left on his tribute wall at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
