DORIS HOGUE

(nee MONDOR)

Doris Hogue (nee Mondor) passed away having given her all, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.
Mom/grandmaman will be deeply missed by her daughter Mona Hogue Hardie (Chris Hardie); daughter-in-law Laura Hogue (Tottle) (wife of son Patrice Hogue); son Giles Hogue; daughter Bernadette Burzynski (nee Hogue) (Henry Burzynski); son Sylvio Hogue (Juliana-Gina Dragomir).
She was predeceased by her husband Noël and sons, Patrice and Vincent.
She married the love of her life, Noël Hogue, on October 4, 1958. They both absolutely loved children. Mom was self-taught in many skills and did them all well. She was renowned for her large gardens, massive canning, and delicious baking – especially her cake sugar cinnamon donuts. From very loving and devoted mother to excellent seamstress, making school uniforms, one Christmas fleece jacket for everyone, to Bernadette’s exquisite silk bridal gown and also a silk Christening gown. Once most of the children were on their own, mom took accounting courses, worked at Centre Culturel Franco-Manitobain, then as banquet manager at the Chamber of Commerce, Costco demo staff, and Receptionist at the Oblate Sisters Convent.
Thank you to Seven Oaks General Hospital 4th Floor Unit 6 Rehab staff. Mom was at Riverview 2 West Chronic Respiratory Care since March 2, 2023. Thank you to those staff who were kind and respectful in her care. Thank you to her “500 Tache” friends.
Full mass will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Notre Dame de la Misércorde Parish, 453 Main St., Ile des Chenes, MB. Viewing will begin at 12:00 p.m. (noon), followed by a eulogy at 12:30 p.m., and mass at 1:00 p.m. Burial to follow at the parish cemetery, along with a reception at 2:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Ile des Chenes, MB.
