MARY JANE IRONSIDE

(RIDGEWAY)

August 26, 1937 - April 20, 2023

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Mary Ironside, on April 20, 2023, at the age of 85 years.

Mary was predeceased by her husband Charlie in 2018. She will forever be remembered and missed by sons, David (Mary Jane) of Kelowna, Stephen of Winnipeg, daughter-in-law Heather, grandchildren, Allison (Colin), Kirsten and Sara and great-grandchildren, Luke and Harrison all of Winnipeg. She is also survived by family and friends in England, and Aberdeen and Inverness, Scotland.

Mary devoted her life to pleasing others and cheering up those around her. She took pride in spending time with her granddaughters and great-grandsons. Mary was very proud to support Charlie in the soccer community. Mary had a very contagious smile and her positivity enlightened the room around her.

A memorial service will be held Friday, April 28 at 10:00 a.m. at Thompson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd.

We’d like to give a special thanks to all the nurses and staff of 6A South at St. Boniface Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Children’s Hospital Foundation.

  • We are very sorry to hear of Mary's passing. She lived one street over from us and was lovely to chat with. Sincere condolences to her family. - Posted by: Brenda (Neighbour) on: May 08, 2023

  • Mary, with Charlie, was a big part of my adolescence soccer experience with Ft Rouge in the 1970s. Best memories to David and Stephen. We cycled the lanes of Ft. Rouge when I stayed with you for a week. Mary was lovely. D - Posted by: David Stambrook (Friend) on: Apr 26, 2023
