BRENT JEFFERY HEWITT
Brent Jeffery Hewitt, beloved husband of Theresa Hewitt, passed away on April 23, 2023, at the age of 70. He was predeceased by his parents, Nell and Fred, his sister-in-law Mary and close cousins.
Brent was a devoted husband to Theresa, loving stepfather to Ted (Lisa), and proud “Grampa Brent” to Allyson and TJ. Brent also leaves to mourn his brothers, Patrick and Gerry (Carol), his niece Lisa and nephews, Darren and Ryan. He had a special bond with his Aunt Josie and enjoyed time with all of his extended family.
Brent was very proud to have been born in Flin Flon, MB. He had a full life, pursuing his careers and passions. His favourite and most cherished accomplishment was realizing his lifelong dream of becoming a pilot, flying in the Northwestern Ontario wilderness. Brent loved music and was a gifted guitarist. Although he was humble about it, he was incredibly talented, inspiring both Ted and TJ to play.
Brent had a keen interest in Second World War history and was the very proud son of a veteran. He loved discussions with friends who shared that interest but especially his treasured visits with veteran Orville Marshall, who shared his memories of real experiences in Italy.
Brent was a storyteller at heart, and he had a gift for making people laugh. He was a master of the pun. He was incredibly social and had a knack for making friends anywhere he went. He especially enjoyed his Selkirk outings, where he had the opportunity to catch up with old and new friends. Theresa wanted to mention the many friendships that Brent truly cherished including with his brothers, cousins and their partners, neighbours, fellow pilots and their ladies, coworkers from Carte, members of Selkirk Army and Navy and the Legion, school buddies, fellow musicians and friends from Flin Flon and Selkirk. You all meant so much to Brent.
Brent will be remembered for his sense of humour, his ability to maintain his friendships over the years, and unwavering love for Theresa.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to honour him to the Winnipeg Humane Society or a charity that works to preserve wildlife or nature.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

We are saddened to hear of the loss of Brent, and have deep sympathy for Theresa, as well as for all the family and friends. Brent struck us as a nice person, intelligent, smart, and caring (as is Theresa) and we had a sense of respect for him. We wish strength to Theresa and all those left behind, while cherishing the memories of Brent. - Posted by: Elaine & Richard Didora (Neighbors) on: Apr 29, 2023
