It is with great sadness to announce the passing peacefully of our Mother, aged 93, of Cooks Creek at St. Boniface Hospital.

Violet will be sadly missed and joyfully remembered by her children, Joe (Colleen), Ernie (Valerie) and Brian (Chandra and daughter Tammy), brother Arthur, close friends and neighbours. Violet was predeceased by her husband Joseph, her mother and father William and Anne Ridley, brothers, Cecil and Herbie Ridley.

Violet’s passion was having the family gatherings, farming, cutting her grass, gardening, baking and love of animals (pets), along with feeding the wild birds. She truly was an inspiration to the family, friends and neighbours, as she lived alone on the farm doing something every day outside (where she was the happiest), she will truly be missed but not forgotten as she is now travelling around the countryside with her husband looking at all the crops that the boys planted in the countryside.

The family would like to thank all the Oakbank home care and hospital staff for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Cooks Creek, Manitoba.
