JAMES MITCHELL ROMANO

November 23, 1935 – May 16, 2023

With sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our father and grandfather, James (Jim) Mitchell Romano, on the night of Tuesday, May 16, 2023, shortly after having family visiting all day.

Jim started life in Pine Falls, MB. He was a successful businessman and really enjoyed doing the deal. He was widely sought after to negotiate real estate deals and manage finances for many companies such as Trizec and Great West Life. He also had a softer side interacting with the homeless in Calgary. He was very supportive of St Michael Church in Calgary. He lived in many cities including Winnipeg, Toronto, and Calgary. His most notable teaching was his ability to always think of a solution to a problem and be relentless in that pursuit. He lived with one foot out of the box. His legacy lives on in his children and grandchildren.

Jim was predeceased by his wife, Barbara (nee Duke). He leaves behind his children, David, and Laura (Jeff); granddaughters, Jesica, and Virginia; and brother David (Sandy).
