Douglas (Doug) Peabody, 84, of Spruce Grove, Alberta passed away on April 29, 2023 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Doug was born in Dryden, Ontario to Charles and Idella Peabody, and attended school in Winnipeg, Manitoba and then, after a move West, graduated in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
After graduation, Doug worked in a number of industries in Western Canada, until beginning a lengthy career with the City of Winnipeg Police, retiring in 1993.
In 1958, Doug met Marjorie (Marj) Archer, and they wed in 1962, going on to have three children, Barry, Gordon, and Robert.
In 1999, shortly after Marjorie retired, Doug and Marj moved to Stony Plain, Alberta and then in 2021, to the neighbouring community of Spruce Grove, Alberta.
Doug is predeceased by his parents and his sisters Joyce, Barbara, and Marilyn. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie and his three children, Barry (Carol), Gordon, and Robert (Patricia); and his three grandchildren, Paige, Allyscia, and Liam plus his extended family and friends.
At Doug's request, a private cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Life at a future time.
