WILLIAM (BILL) RICHARD DAVIDSON

On May 26, 2023 at the Concordia Hospital, Bill passed away with family by his side.

He was born on June 3, 1932 in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, the son of Ronald and Albertine Davidson. He grew up on a farm near Shaunavon, riding a horse to a one-room school every day. In 1951 he joined the RCMP. He proudly rode in three tours of the RCMP Musical Ride, with highlights including performing over several months in England and Scotland, and a stop at Madison Square Gardens in New York. In between each Ride he was engaged in regular policing, spending two years in Norway House, and while stationed in Carman, he met Elsie Moyle, who he married in 1960. Together they were posted to several Manitoba communities, including Norway House once again, and Brandon where Bill retired as a Staff Sergeant. He worked for the Province of Manitoba Emergency Measures Organization, retiring in 1993.

Bill and Elsie moved to Paradise Village, where Bill enjoyed golfing, fishing and tending to his yard. He was happiest spending time with family and friends and enjoyed telling a good story.

He will be sorely missed by those he leaves behind. He was predeceased by his wife Elsie and his sister Dolly. He is survived by his daughters, Rhonda and Gail (Dale); grandchildren, Jenna (Kyle), Tanner and great-granddaughter Addison.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Funeral service was held on Friday, June 2, 2023 from Doyle’s Funeral Home, Carman, Manitoba. Interment followed in the Greenwood Cemetery Columbarium, Carman, Manitoba.
