Date of Passing: Jul 11, 2023
Offer Condolences or MemoryPATRICIA (PATTI) BERTOUILLE
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Patti Bertouille on July 11, 2023, at the age of 58 years.
Patti will be deeply missed by her husband of 37 years, Brad; and sons, David (Melissa) and Matthew (Kaitlan); and two new beautiful grandchildren, Noah and Evelyn. She will also be greatly missed by her brother Jim; and sisters, Brenda (Carmine) and Joanne (Rob).
Sharing the grief are her parents-in-law, Morris and Kathy Bertouille; and her brother-in-law Grant; and sisters-in-law, Suzanne and Bridget (Hano); and all her nieces and nephews, Brett, Kelsey, Anthony, Adrian, Alyssa, Cayla, Megan, Brody, Ines and Cohen.
She was greeted in heaven by her mom and dad, Joe and Bernice Horeczy.
Patti was born on September 5, 1964, in Winnipeg, Manitoba and grew up in North Kildonan, attending Springfield Heights Elementary, Chief Peguis Junior High, and River East Collegiate. Patti was quite an accomplished piano player, teaching piano in the evenings and also worked at the Museum of Man and Nature on the weekends.
Patti was a devoted mother to her two wonderful sons and loved being home with them as they grew up. She would diligently get them to school and to their hockey and soccer practices and games. Patti also loved to join Matthew on the golf course and to listen to David’s band, who were always welcome to practice in her home.
Family was very important to her, and she cherished any family and annual gatherings and visits both in Winnipeg and in Arizona.
Patti loved golf. Over the past 18 years, Patti could be found playing many golf games in the summer at Elmhurst Golf and Country Club. More recently, she enjoyed winters in Arizona where she loved the sun, relaxing by the pool, playing bocce ball and of course, golf. She especially enjoyed attending the Waste Management Golf Tournament.
She was always happy, smiling, and laughing. Her infectious personality was felt by all who knew her. She maintained this right until the end.
We have experienced a great loss in our family. Patti’s memory will forever be imprinted in our hearts and will never be diminished by time or distance.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Patti’s memory to Chalice (Canada) or a charity of one’s choice.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at Holy Redeemer Parish, 264 Donwood Drive, followed by interment at Glen Eden Cemetery. A reception honouring Patti will follow at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., West St. Paul at 12:30 p.m. Friends and family are welcome to attend either or both.

WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS HOW INCREDIBLY SHOCKED AND SADDENED ROBYN & I WERE WHEN WE HEARD THE NEWS OF HOW QUICKLY PATTI HAD PASSED AWAY. I TALKED TO ALL OF THE PEOPLE DOWN IN ARIZONA THAT KNEW BRAD & PATTI -- THEY WERE ALL PROFOUNDLY SADDENED BY THE NEWS OF HER PASSING. WE HAD SO MANY WONDERFUL TIMES TOGETHER WITH BRAD & PATTI, INCLUDING: * "YELLOW DAY" BIRTHDAY PARTIES AT STANDARD AERO * "PATTI-PUTTING" ON THE GOLF COURSE IN ARIZONA... SEVERAL OF MY GOLFING FRIENDS IN CANADA AND ARIZONA STILL REFER TO PUTTING FROM THE FAIRWAY OR SAND BUNKER AS "PATTI PUTTING" * EVERYONE CALLED HER "CHATTY PATTI" AT THE MANY SUPER BOWL, GREY CUP, AND AMERICAN THANKSGIVING PARTIES WE HAD DOWN IN ARIZONA * PATTI CALLED MY MOM "GRANDMA" AS SHE REMINDED PATTI OF HER GRANDMOTHER * WE HAD SO MANY LAUGHS AT THE WASTE MANAGEMENT GOLF TOURNAMENT OVER PATTI'S OBSESSION WITH GETTING RICKY FOWLER'S AUTHOGRAPH * PATTI WAS ALWAY A VERY HAPPY PERSON, AND ALWAYS LAUGHED AT MY STORIES AND JOKES... PATTI WILL BE SORELY MISSED BY MANY, MANY, PEOPLE. EVERYONE SHOULD CHERISH THE MANY WONDERFUL MEMORIES THEY HAVE OF PATTI - SHE WAS SUCH A WONDERFUL PERSON TO BE AROUND. UNFORTUNATELY, WE ARE OUT OF TOWN THIS WEEK AND CANNOT ATTEND THE FUNERAL... I was saddened to learn of Patti’s death. I remember Patti and Brenda from the Ian Place neighbourhood in North Kildonan. Patti was my daughter’s friend and both girls were so often at our home. Patti was in my Grade Four class at Springfield Heights School. She was always a happy little girl and it grieves me to hear of her passing. My deepest sympathy goes out to her family who are left to cherish her memory. May wonderful memories bring comfort at this time and in the weeks and years ahead.
