IVAN ELMER PEDERSON
July 19, 1933 – July 18, 2023


Ivan Pederson, 89, of Woodridge, MB, passed away Tuesday, July 18th, 2023, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB.
He is survived by his wife Lorraine of 68 years, daughters Louise Pederson of Winnipeg, MB, and Shannon Meisner of Donalda, AB, and son-in-law Rob Griffin of Garson, seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, sisters Joyce Drewniak and Bernice Pederson, and brother Lloyd (Marilyn) Pederson, and their families.
He was predeceased by his parents Pete and Inga Pederson, daughter Cheryl Griffin, sons Douglas and Donald Pederson, two sisters, and three brothers.
Ivan, a man of many talents and a heart full of generosity, passed away just one day before his 90th birthday. His departure has left a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him, but his legacy of music, skill, and kindness will forever remain in our hearts.
Born on July 19th, 1933, in Menisino, MB, Ivan developed a deep passion for music from an early age. Throughout his life, he mastered multiple instruments, with the accordion being his primary focus. He shared his musical gifts with the world by playing in various bands, gracing countless events with his melodic tunes, and leaving a lasting impression on all who heard him play.
Beyond his musical talents, Ivan was a true "jack of all trades." Whether it was fixing a car, building something from scratch, or simply lending a helping hand, he approached every task with unwavering dedication and care.
The family would like to thank the nurses and the staff at Bethesda Regional Health Centre as well as long-time family friend Loretta Peppler for all their care and support.
Cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Piney Hall, Piney, MB.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ivan may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 1160-675 McDermot Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
