It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Lucien (Lou) Lavallee on July 19th at the age of 92.
Lou is survived by his children, Dave (Valerie) Neil, Stefan; Doug (Carol) Shea, Jordan, Kyra; Doreen (Bob) Brittany, Lauren; Sharon (Jim) Jamie, Matthew. Lou was blessed with great-grandchildren, Lily, Avery, Madeline, Bennett, Charlotte, Owen, Olivia and Alec. He is survived by his two sisters, Lucie and Denise. Predeceased by his wife of 66 years Maria; infant son Roger; siblings, Raymond, Oliva, Denis, Odile, Yvonne and Annette.
Lou was a long time employee (37 years) at Labatt Breweries. Dad provided many job opportunities for the young men in St. Vital and always treated everyone with respect. He was a regular volunteer at the Glenwood Community Club coaching baseball and hockey and was a member of the “Glenwood Heart Attacks.” He was also an active ten pin bowler and baseball player with the Labatt sport teams. Dad’s happiest and proudest moments were watching his children and grandchildren play sports. Mom and Dad enjoyed many years at their winter retreat in Hemet, CA.
A special thank you to the caregivers at Kildonan Personal Care Home.
A private family interment will take place at a later date.
