THERESE HEBERT
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Thérèse Hébert, who departed this world on July 27, 2023.
Born on June 9, 1934 in the small community of Saint Malo, Manitoba, Thérèse was the youngest of seven children born to Lucien Gosselin and Bernadette Pelletier. She and her husband, Guy (1932-96), would make Winnipeg their home, but maintain close ties with their native town. And like her mother before her, Thérèse had an open door policy, where family and friends knew they were always welcome to a coffee, a libation, or a warm meal and a bed.
Beyond her role as a mother, after graduating from the St. Boniface Hospital School of Nursing, Thérèse would have a much loved career that spanned more than 40 years.
Her deep-rooted belief in God guided her through life’s challenges, and provided her the strength to navigate the last 16 months at Riverview Hospital.
She is predeceased by all of her siblings - brothers, Robert and Gérard, and sisters, Suzanne Bérard, Lucienne Catellier, Fernande Carrière, and Colette Forest.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Yoland (Michelle), Marjolaine and Rachel; her beloved grandchildren, Eric, Céleste (Braden), Jonah, Christian and Benoît; brothers and sisters-in-law, Denis Hébert, Anne-Marie Gosselin, Jeanne and Wilfrid Gosselin, and Diane and Léo Robert, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff on 2-West at Riverview Hospital for their very kind attention to our mother.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on August 17, 2023 with a viewing at 12:30 p.m. at la Cathédrale de St-Boniface, 180 avenue de la Cathédrale. Interment will immediately follow at the St. Boniface Cemetery on Archibald Street.
