LUCIE ALLARD
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Lucie Allard (Prescott) at the age of 83, on July 29, 2023, at HSC. We are comforted knowing that she is reunited in heaven with her loving husband Robert (d. 1999).
Lucie will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her only daughter Isabelle Marion (Philip), step-granddaughters Brittaney Winnicky (Jason) and Chantel Bent (Josh) and their children Jayden, Logan and Emily. Also, she leaves to mourn her brothers and sisters: Marguerite sgm, Louis, Françoise, Hélène (Guy Mousseau d.), Georges (Jeannine Ruest d.), Pauline, one sister-in-law: Pearl Basay as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Lucie was predeceased by her parents: Arcadius Prescott and Zéphirine Prescott (Mousseau), brothers and sisters, Eveline, Father Réginald, Father Roland MAfr., Rita (René Wilcott d.), Irene sgm, Father Henri, Alma, Ernest (Jessie Stewart Paterson Critchton d.) and Gilbert.
Lucie married Robert on July 5, 1968 at the St. Boniface Basilica. They moved to St. Eustache, MB in 1969 where they lived and managed the grocery/liquor store, and post office for 25 years. In 1994, they moved to Southdale for their retirement years. Maman was the most kind, loving and sweet person. Maman was very active and enjoyed swimming and biking into her 80’s. She loved playing board games, and cards especially cribbage. Lucie relished cooking and baking. She was known for her peanut butter marshmallow squares, matrimonial squares and tourtières. She never shied away from trying new and different things enjoying many adventures with her daughter. Lucie had a great devotion to her Roman Catholic faith, attending mass weekly and praying for all her loved ones. Maman impacted many lives over the years by her acts of kindness and caring.
The family would like to thank the health care team at HSC: GH7-HOBS and GB2 for their excellent and compassionate care during her seven days in the hospital after her massive stroke.
Funeral service will be celebrated at Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens Parish, 289 Dussault Avenue, on Thursday, August 10, 2023. Viewing at 12:30 p.m. Eulogy at 1:15 p.m. followed by the funeral service.

My deepest condolences to learn of Lucie's stroke and her passing. Although I never had a chance to personally meet or talk to Lucie, we would see each other regularly from my balcony when she was in her suite opening and closing her drapes and window throughout the years.
