ANGELINA CALIGIURI

February 18, 1915 – August 7, 2023

With the family by her side, we announce the peaceful passing of Angelina on August 7, 2023 at the remarkable age of 108.

Angelina was predeceased by her loving husband Pietro and leaves to cherish in her memory her three devoted sons, Dominic (Teresa), Raffaele (Josie) and Frank (Josie). Angelina also leaves behind her sister Natalina, as well as a legacy of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nephews and nieces.

Angelina was born on February 18, 1915 in Amato, Italy and left her homeland to make a new home in Winnipeg in 1954. Angelina’s journey in life threaded decades of history and endured the trials of global health pandemics, waves of world wars, medical breakthroughs, and economic fluctuations. She was a woman of strength and grace enduring the transformation of eras with a resilient spirit.

The family expresses their sincere appreciation to the caring staff at Misericordia Place, whose dedication and support provided Angelina with comfort and care over the years, particularly during her final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, with condolences at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Father Sam Argenziano presiding.
