AVELINO DANTAS DE SOUSA

October 20, 1933 – August 3, 2023

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Avelino Dantas de Sousa on August 3, 2023, at the age of 89.

Avelino was born in Portugal, in Aveleiras, and immigrated to Canada in 1957 to work in Newfoundland.

He also worked in the provinces of Ontario, Quebec and Manitoba, was fluent in both official languages, and made many wonderful friends in both Portugal and Canada.

Avelino leaves behind his wife Maria and his son Manuel.

A prayer service will be held at Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin St. N., Winnipeg, MB on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Fr. Andre Lico presiding. Burial will take place in Portugal at a later date.
