HEATHER ELIZABETH McISAAC

(HOUSTON)

November 13, 1959 – August 7 2023

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Heather Elizabeth McIsaac (Houston). She was a much beloved wife, sister, step-mother, aunt, grandma and friend. She was predeceased by her parents Rob and Martha, cousin Peter, and brother-in-law Bubba. Left to grieve are her husband Tim, step-son Stephen (Melissa), brothers James and Robert (Carol), sisters in law Tanice, Lori (Raff), Michelle (Doug), brother-in-law Colin (Cali), nieces Candace (Andrew) and Carrie (Andrew), grand-daughter Everlee, and extended family in PEI and BC.

Heather met the love of her life Tim in 1999, and together with Tim’s son Stephen they had many adventures over the years. Always the entertainer, their house was perpetually filled with laughter and friends who became family. Heather took pride in finding any excuse to celebrate, and especially loved holidays that involved decorations – bonus points if they lit up or sang a song. One of her greatest joys was the exchange students they hosted over the years, especially the ones who kept in touch long after their time in Canada. She truly counted them among her family and loved hearing from them.
Heather had a very special relationship with her nieces, as she helped to care for them before and after school and through the summer holidays. The time they shared together was full of laughs and always finding magic in the small moments.

Though her time was cut short, Heather lived a full and exuberant life. She was a proud member of Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile and worked with Job’s Daughters International. Her Masonic Family ties brought so many friends into her life over the years, both locally and across the globe. She also spent many years volunteering with Scouts Canada. Everything she did, she put her whole heart into.
Heather had a knack for knowing when people needed a helping hand or a shoulder to lean on. Heather had a personal brand of sunshine, and being in its light made you feel instantly better. Heather loved to laugh and had an incredibly infectious sense of humor – anyone who ever spent a moment with her was immediately involved in the current ongoing joke with delight.

Our family is eternally grateful to the paramedics and staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their assistance. Special thanks to her “adopted daughter” Maggie for being with her at the end.

A Celebration Of Life will be held on Saturday, August 19 at 11:45 a.m. at the Masonic Memorial Centre, 420 Corydon at Osborne. Private interment will follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind (www.guidedogs.ca/donate/) or H.I.K.E Fund Canada (www.hikefundcanada.org/contact/)

“…and when our life on Earth is ended, may we gather in the Great Bethel on High”

Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • My deepest sympathies to Tim and your family. Although I only met Heather in 2022 as she celebrated Tim's recognition of sport in Canada, she made a significant impression on me. Her kindness and humour was abundant and she did not let her limitations prevent her from enjoying the celebrations, including challenging travel across the country. She has clearly touched the hearts of so many. I appreciate the brief time I was able to spend with Heather last year. - Posted by: Ruth Cowan (Friend) on: Sep 07, 2023

  • My deepest sympathy to Heather's family. She was a big part of my life at one time and I had a lot of fun working for her doing the market research thing! It was amazing how many balls she could juggle at one time! I have to smile just thinking about her and Martha having a discussion about work...and other things! there was never a dull moment. I have not seen her much lately but will miss that smiling face anyway. Rest in peace, my friend. - Posted by: debbie (friend) on: Sep 06, 2023
