PETER FALK
Sadly, Peter (Bumpa) passed peacefully at Brightwater Senior Living of Tuxedo on Monday, August 7, at the ripe age of almost 99.
Peter was predeceased by his parents, Peter Falk and Helena Braun; his beloved wife Agnes; daughter Helen and brother Jack (Marie).
Peter is survived by his daughter Barbara, son Harold, brother Dave (Diane) as well as seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Peter grew up in southern Manitoba farm country and as the eldest he quickly learned what hard work was required to support a living.
After working on local farms Peter moved to Winnipeg and learned welding to help support the war effort and then went on to also drive semi-trailer truck, deliver ice and bread, drive a taxi and finally landing a long career with Canada Post starting as a mail sorter but progressing to eventually become a postal station supervisor.
Peter loved fishing, hunting, camping, curling, and golfing. Upon retirement he and Agnes went RVing across Canada and up to the Yukon.
In his later years at senior living he loved family visits, especially the grandkids and was always happy to host a family Christmas dinner.
Peter's goal was to live to 105. Unfortunately in the last few months he realized his body was tiring and it was time to reassess that goal. He had already invited some friends and loved ones to his 100th birthday to be in 2024. Sadly, his body steadily declined in the last few months and he passed peacefully in his sleep.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, August 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Victoria General Hospital, Helen Hudson Memorial Scholarship Foundation.

Every time I went to visit my mother at Brightwater, Peter would motor up to her asking how she was feeling. He spoke in such a gentle, caring way. Whoever he spoke with he gave his full attention! I did not know Peter well. But, what I felt from him was his genuine kindness and compassion. His presence drew me in and I looked forward to seeing him during the next visit with my Mom.
