IRIS DAY
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our dear mother on August 10, 2023.
Iris came to Canada with her husband Roy in 1957 from England, together they had three boys and made Canada their home. Iris enjoyed summers at Star Lake and later in Lundar. After becoming a widow with three young boys, Iris went to work in the Library department of the University of Winnipeg. She retired in 1996. Iris had a great sense of humor, loved walking, reading, animals, especially her dog Willie. Iris loved being with her grandchildren in retirement.
Iris is survived by three sons, Paul (Angie), Phil (Loretta), John (Trish); five grandchildren, Jason (Kim), Randy (Joanne), April (Peter), Matthew (Taylor) and Ashley (Kole); 12 great-grandchildren. There were many others that called her Grandma. Iris was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
We would like to sincerely say thank you to Heritage Life PCH’S caring staff whose dedication and support made her short stay with them feel like home. Thank you to Bethesda Hospital staff for their support during a difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
As per Iris’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will take place at a later date.
