It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Agathe Fontaine (nee Manaigre) at the age of 84, on August 11, 2023 in her home. We are comforted knowing that she is reunited in heaven with her loving husband Henri.
Mom is survived by her children, Marc (Christine), Viviane (Richard), Richard (Diane), Claude (Marie), Ronald (Debbie Jo) and Denise (Bertrand). She spoke proudly of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Chantal (René), Vanessa (Patrick), Karine (Kevin), Lianne (Noel), Janelle (Nicolas), Colin, Rachelle, Real (Brittany), Noah, Caitlin (Taylor), Eric and Martin. Mémère also leaves to cherish her great-grandchildren, Dax and Zane. She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings, Hilda, Jules and Hervé, as well as numerous in-laws, nephews, nieces and friends.
Mom was predeceased by her parents, Donat and Simone Manaigre; brother and sister, Alain and Constance and sisters-in-law and brothers-in law.
Agathe was born in Pinewood, Ontario on March 16, 1939 and grew up as the third child from a large family. She moved to St-Boniface at age of 18 where she first was employed and there, she met Henri. They raised their family on a farm in Ste-Agathe where mom was a dedicated homemaker for many years. Mom and Dad enjoyed many road trips and going out for ice cream. Mom also loved to wine and dine with family and friends.
Agathe was a very devoted wife and mother. She was a gentle soul and spoke kindly of everyone. Agathe kept her mind active doing her daily word puzzles and games and excelled at remembering names, dates and important events. Her presence will be missed at the daily activities held at Lion’s Estates. Mom’s gentle disposition, unconditional love and kind words will be remembered.
A private Funeral Service will be held on August 19, 2023.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
