REINHOLD RUDOLPH (ROY) PEITSCH

On Sunday, August 20, 2023, our beloved brother, uncle, cousin and friend returned to his heavenly home after a brief illness.

Roy will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Geraldine, Janice and Elaine; brother Alfred; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Edith and William, and brothers, Norman and Nelson.

Roy was born September 9, 1934, in Brokenhead, Manitoba. As the first-born child to Edith and William during the depression era, responsibilities and hard work were the cornerstones of existence. From his earliest days, he embraced these values with a fervor that would come to define his character. For three decades Roy farmed during the day and worked nights at the Canadian Pacific Railway.

Roy was well known in Eastern Manitoba for his collection of farm equipment and vehicles. He was a permanent fixture at auction sales throughout southern Manitoba for over 50 years. He enjoyed buying and selling but it was the people he met over the years that he enjoyed most. When asked about his well-being, Roy's response was always characterized by his determined and upbeat spirit: "I'm still doing!".

Roy was a man of faith, believing that living simply, gently and with kindness honoured his name and the Lord.

In Roy’s memory, may we find the determination to work tirelessly, the wisdom to cherish our heritage, and the grace to be gentle and express kindness to others as he did throughout his remarkable life.

He will be profoundly missed. In keeping with his wishes, no formal service will be held.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die.” John 11:25-26
