Georges was born in La Broquerie on January 27, 1925 where he and Cecile spent most of their married life. He founded La Broquerie Lumber in partnership with his brother, Gabriel. After retirement in 1978, Dad and Mom spent much of their time at the cottage in Roseau River. Our Dad was an avid gardener who took great pride in his gardens and flowers. Dad was always ready to help anyone in need, always with a smile, which is probably why one of his favourite sayings was « ça va leur faire plaisir » (it will make them happy). Later in life, Dad was living at Villa Youville where he enjoyed the great outdoors. There he spent many hours going for walks and loved meeting people. Dad was always very artistic which was reflected in his many hobbies. He found great joy in his pastime of adult coloring until the very end.
Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, September 15, 2023 at 11 :00 am in La Broquerie at the Roman Catholic Church with eulogies at 10 :30 am. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Pavillon and Nursing at Villa Youville for their wonderful care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Villa Youville, 15 Charrière Road, Ste Anne MB R5H 1C9.
