CHARLES WAYNE DAVIS
After a well-lived life Wayne passed peacefully with his wife and family by his side after a brief illness. He was born in Winnipeg on July 23, 1942, and passed away on August 27, 2023.
Wayne is survived by his wife Carolyn, children Jason (Sarah), Justin and Joelle (Rick Peterson), grandchildren Jordan, Jamie and Truman, and sisters Judy (Edward Prystupa) and Pam (Peter Van Kemanade). He was predeceased by parents Elmer and Bertha Davis (Hallett), and brother Jim.
Wayne grew up in Woodlands, MB. Sports were an important part of his life, playing baseball and running track early on before finding his later love of curling and golf. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time on the land fishing and hunting. Wayne always looked forward to his time at Spearhill, playing records, crokinole and taking naps in the fresh air. His great sense of humor earned him many friends throughout the Interlake.
He was married on September 2nd, 1967, to Carolyn McCrimmon and this weekend they would have celebrated their 56th anniversary. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and a founding member of the South Interlake Golf Course (Whispering Winds). Wayne worked for 10 years at Bulman printing before starting his 30 plus year career with MTS in the print shop.
A memorial service celebrating Wayne’s life will take place at the Woodlands Community Hall Friday September 8th at 2:00 p.m. A private family interment will follow. We would like to thank the team at St. Boniface hospital and the doctors and nurses in the cardiac critical care unit. If friends so desire donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
