GEORGE MIRONUK
George William Mironuk passed away peacefully, at the age of 91, on September 2, 2023, at the Misericordia Health Centre.
George was predeceased by his beloved wife, Helen; his brothers, Fred and Ed; and his sister Vera. George grew up in Smooth Rock Falls, Ontario and later moved to Winnipeg to pursue his career as a projectionist.
Family was important to George, and his love of movies and putting them on screen were a lifelong passion. George always loved working with people and, after his retirement, spent much of his time volunteering at Oak Hammock Marsh and then the Assiniboine Park Zoo.
He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Service will take place on Friday, September 15, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, at 3030 Notre Dame Avenue, Winnipeg.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation, in memory of George, would be very much appreciated.

George was a lifetime Gold Card member of IATSE. First with Local 299 then Local 63. George was the President of Local 299 for countless years, representing its membership in negotiations with numerous Employers. He always had fond memories of being a Delegate attending the IATSE Conventions throughout the United States and Canada. When in doubt, George would contact “head office” for guidance and marching orders. He made many friends along his journey and the lights are dimmer with his passing… - Posted by: Barny Haines (Colleague & Friend ) on: Sep 12, 2023
