On Saturday, September 9, 2023 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, Gerry Simonson of Fannystelle, MB passed away at the age of 81 years.
Viewing will take place on Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Doyle’s Funeral Home, Carman. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Starbuck, MB. Private interment will be held in the Elm Creek Cemetery.

My wife Tracy and I met Gerry and Shirley at a Christmas pot luck about 10 years ago , when we had just moved here. He came up to us with his great big smile and said HI I'm your neighbor Gerry, and invited us to join them for dinner. We spent every pot luck across the table from them every year after. Gerry was always smiling and always willing to lend a hand. He taught us city folk that neighbors don't just live next door, they can be miles away and still be close.
