It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father, George L. Barthelette, 92, of Winnipeg, Manitoba. He died peacefully at Riverview Medical Center on September 3, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. surrounded by family.
George was preceded in death by his parents, George Barthelette Sr. and Rosa Rita Barthelette; loving wife Claire May Barthelette; and siblings, David, Angela, Roland, Gerry and Elizabeth.
George leaves to mourn his children, Angela Barthelette (Grant Thomas), Betty Johnson (Doug Johnson), Gary Barthelette (Theresa Barthelette), Maryann Legal (Henry Legal), Robert Barthelette (Rhonda Chartrand), Dennis Barthelette, and Wayne Barthelette. George also leaves to mourn numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Rita Phillips and Bernedette Morin.
George was born in Marchand, Manitoba in 1931 to parents, George and Rosa Barthelette. George served in the army and was stationed in Victoria, British Columbia; Iserlohn, Germany and Calgary, Alberta. George finally settled in Winnipeg, Manitoba for the remainder of his life.
George loved watching his grandchildren play hockey and would always be there cheering them on. George loved spending holidays with his family and took them camping, fishing, berry, mushroom, and Seneca Root picking, he taught us how to snare rabbits, hunt and loved to explore. George will sadly be missed his family.
Burial for George will be held on September 20, 2023 at 1:45 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB.
