It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother, nanay and sister Laura Gonzales, on September 23, 2023, at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 75.
She was preceded by her parents: Leonardo and Tarcilla Gonzales; siblings: Ireneo Gonzales, Elenita Torres, and Florantante Gonzales; sister-in-law: Ceding Gonzales.
Laura will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter: Leah Diato (Carlo); sisters: Elizabeth Lutz (Terry), and Remedios Montorio; grandchildren: Reynold Almario (Chelsea), Lexie (Jhon), Liam, and Callie Diato, Scott (Morgan), and Santana McKay (Francois): nieces and nephews: Rainier Malabanan (Gigi), Froilan Cauyao, Leonard Crystoval, Misty Lutz (Ronnie), Whitney and Shayne Lutz, Dashielle, Danielbert, Darryll, and Danika Montorio; as well as many extended family members in the Philippines.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital Dialysis Unit 2, as well as the staff at St. Boniface Hospital Unit 5B, for their kindness and compassionate care.
A celebration of Laura’s life and Lamay will take place on Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4000 Portage Avenue in Winnipeg, MB. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home and Cemetery.
