It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our dear mom, grandma/grammy, and sister Bev on September 21, 2023 at the age of 77.
Bev was predeceased by her husband Garth; parents, Bill and Vera; sister Joy; parents-in-law, John and Harriet, and brothers-in-law, Dave and Ron.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Melissa Wall (Doug), Stuart (Kristina); and grandchildren, Matthew and Julia Wall, Danielle, Cadi, Breanna, Ben and Sloane Lee. Bev is also survived by her sister Roberta; brothers-in-law, Craig (Ruth), Norval (Joan); sisters-in-law, Karen and Beth; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Bev was born in May of 1946 in Winnipeg. She attended schools in Transcona and St. James. She then attended Teacher’s College and taught at Britannia School. She also worked in numerous financial institutions. Bev married Garth in 1971 and wholeheartedly embraced farm life, as well as motherhood, when Melissa and Stuart were born. Shortly thereafter, she was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and then tragically, Garth was killed in 1981. She faced these challenges with grace and strength, relying heavily on her faith in Christ.
Despite all this, she lived a full life, enjoying many travels, summers at Ditch Lake, concerts, plays and time spent with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
The family thanks her many doctors, especially Pain Specialist Dr. Luk, the staff at Riverview Day Hospital and Shaftesbury Retirement Residence for their kindness and support. We are deeply grateful to Dr. Eyolfson and the team at Grace Hospital Emergency for their care and compassion.
The funeral is to be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Hope and Healing International, which held a special place in Mom’s heart.
