Benny was larger than life.... his smile instantly made you feel welcome. I had the priveledge of knowing Ben as a co-worker, a competitor, a confidante and a friend. Ben was one of the first people we met when we moved to Brandon , not knowing anyone. He immediately had an impact on my wife and I as we settled in to our new "home". Although the restaurant industry can be cut throat at times, I never had that relationship with Ben. We cheered for each other, vented with each other and relished over the opportunity to talk about the food industry over a coffee. He was always my first call. The apple didn't fall too far from the tree when it came to his girls. Liz and Natalie and Deb are all very similar and share the same work ethic as Benny. As I get older I realize how rare it is to find a persona who possesses all of the characteristics of the personality, dedication , work ethic and family first mentality, I admired Ben so much for these traits, as an employer, husband and father myself. Benny was truly a rare find and will be missed beyond measure by people like me that got to share and see a few different sides of him. The other side to Benny that I got to see is what he did behind the scenes, looking for no applause or accolades... his generosity was unmatched. Often times Ben (and family) contributed silently to organizations whether it be through time or food. What makes this more remarkable than some would think, is the fact that he was a small business operator, meaning he didn't have the means of corporate funding, resources to assist.... it was because he loved this community and the people in it. Benny , you will be irreplaceable as a community leader, restauranteur, father, husband and human being, but you have left your mark on me, my family and this community... Rest easy my friend.... watch your beloved Leaf's (uuuggghh), with your feet up and hopefully someone is cooking and doing the dishes for you tonight. - Posted by: Chad & Michelle Wallin (Friends) on: Oct 09, 2023

Alan and I will truly miss seeing Ben enjoying a walk or a bike ride past our home with Debbie. He was a kind and generous man, and offered his help where he could to neighbors and friends. Our hearts go out to Debbie and family. Alan and Marilyn Stone 126 McVicar Crescent - Posted by: Alan and Marilyn Stone (neighbor) on: Oct 08, 2023
