Mom passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on October 3, 2023, at Betel Home in Selkirk.
Mom will be dearly missed by her sons, Donald (Gertrude), Richard (Patti) and Russell (Trudy); grandchildren, Maria (Omar), Crystal, Jennifer (Dennis), Lindsay (Kyle), Brandon (Cassie), Aaron, Stephanie (Rory), Samantha (Evan) and Trevor (Katie) and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Stan in 2020, her son David in 2011, seven brothers and five sisters, and her parents, William and Alexandra.
Donalda was born September 4, 1930, in Winnipeg, Manitoba and raised on a farm in Gonor. She married Dad, a St. Andrews boy from across the river on May 23, 1953 and they were blessed with four sons.
Mom was a loving mother and grandmother and she was very proud of all of her children and grandchildren. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with all her family. She worked for Eaton’s Mail Order when all four boys were in school and she enjoyed gardening, canning, pickling, cooking, baking and reading.
Grandma, you will be dearly missed and our memories with you will be cherished forever.
Our family would like to acknowledge and thank the nurses, care workers and all the staff at Betel Home who took very good care of Mom for the past three years and who kept Mom comfortable the final weeks of her life.
A private family service and burial will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home.
