Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY ELIZABETH TIBBS
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary on September 29, 2023, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease.
Mary is survived by her daughters Joelle Chow (Damon) and Jaimi Green (Graeme) and their father David Skinner. Mary was predeceased by her husband Jim and leaves behind his children Mike Tibbs (Kelly Lount) and Amy Young (Cam). Mary loved her five grandchildren Myla and Andrew Chow, Sydney and Olivia Green, and Hadrian Young. She will be forever missed by her family and friends.
Born February 19, 1947, in Winnipeg, Mary was the only child of Violet and William Miller. She spent most of her life living in St. James and Charleswood. Mary graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in home economics. She was destined to follow in her parents' footsteps and become a banker working for CIBC and later RBC. She spent many hours volunteering for various groups including the Junior League, Festival of Trees, Kinettes, National Film Board, and activities in which Joelle and Jaimi were involved.
Mary had a love of gardening and enjoyed spending time in the sun. She had special memories of camping and trips to Chicago, Hawaii and Mexico. You could often find Mary listening to oldies, reading a book or ironing her clothes. She was a kind woman who often advocated for those around her. She had a gentle soul and never complained. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
We would like to thank the second floor, unit four staff at Vista Park Lodge for taking wonderful care of our mum. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a Parkinson's charity of your choice.
In keeping with Mary's wishes, cremation has taken place, no service will be held. Her ashes will be buried at Chapel Lawn. As Mary said, "please thank all of those who loved me."
