Joe was a great friend. We were talking by phone upon til recently. I know he was very fond of his stepdaughter and he was suffering the loss of his wife. If possible I'd like to email chat with Joe's daughter-in-law. - Posted by: paul roderick gregory (close friend from Berlin days) on: Jul 01, 2025

Joe, we will miss your kindness, consideration, wisdom and magic. I first met Joe within the Circumpolar Congress world and enjoyed his magic tricks. As a First Nations health professional, I welcomed his advice and worldliness pertaining to the numerous challenges we faced working with my people. He was very understanding and pursued all avenues that would benefit the health of First Nations. Ekosani, RIP and cherish your spirit world journey as you meet Pat, your love, once again. - Posted by: Mabel Horton (Friend) on: Oct 11, 2023

Joe has been a dear person to our family for many years as wise elder, magician and kind adult to our children at special gatherings. I first met Joe as a medical student and very much appreciated his humor, magic skills, and teachings of sociology, community and art of medicine. His lectures were some of my favorites. I then came to know him and Pat as a family friend through our connection to Joe Connor (step father). There have been many special gatherings over the years where Joe lit up the room with his special touch of magic and gentle fun (birthdays, weddings, dinners). Joe, we will miss you dear friend! - Posted by: Joy (Zeglinski), Scott (Spinney), Amy, Evan and Ella (Zeglinski-Spinney) (Family friends) on: Oct 09, 2023

I had the great pleasure of working with Joe in the 1980’s as a member of the HSC Dietetics Education team providing regular educational sessions to Joe’s Community Medicine Undergrads. He treated us as equal colleagues and it was always fun to watch him confound his medical students with his magic which he skillfully used to demonstrate concepts. It was nice to continue to see Joe and Patricia at the Brodie Centre over the years. I am so sorry to read of Joe’s passing and send sincere condolences to his family on the loss of this very good man. - Posted by: Karen (Shreiber) Howell (Former Colleague) on: Oct 07, 2023
