Subsequent to a stroke in June, Irene passed peacefully in her apartment at the Shaftsbury.
Irene was predeceased by her parents, her husband Tom and her son-in-law Wayne.
She is survived by her sister Shirl Boutilier, her children Jack (Gail), Rick (Sheila) and Susan, her grandchildren John (Krista), Mike (Jill), Andrew (Nicole), Mark and Nicole (Rob), her great-grandchildren Hudson, Adalyn, Corvin, Tristin, Elliot and Iris, as well as nieces, nephews and very special friends.
The family are grateful for the kind, compassionate, respectful caring she received from her homecare workers as well as the nurses and aides at Shaftsbury. Longer obituary to follow.

Sincere condolences Susan and family. I guess I was at your house enough times that I remember your mom well. Always a smile for me and asked how my family was - even though I don’t think they ever met. I saw your mom and dad at Sears some time ago on the escalator. Knew your mom in a second as she just never seemed to age. Had a nice chat - she remembered me (most of my classmates don’t). I gave her my business card to pass on to you and we parted ways. Such a lovely lady.
