DENISE LAROCQUE
Peacefully with her family by her side, we announce the passing of our mother, Denise LaRocque , age 87 years old on October 2, 2023 at Actionmarguerite (St. Vital).
Denise will be lovingly remembered by her children, John (Darcia), Janet (Rick); grandchildren, Christa (Adrian), Jenna, Natalie, Ashley (Brandon), and Ryan (Madison); great-grandchildren, Oliver, Mia, and Coco. She will also be missed by brothers, Gerry, Albert (Erna), Denis (Eileen), Bobby (Lynda); and sister-in-law Maryanne and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband Denis LaRocque; parents, Arthur and Adrienne Paul; brothers, Leo (Jessie), Louis (Mary), Ernest (Claire), and Arthur Jr; and brothers-in-law, Stoney (Joyce), Robert (Jeannine), Louis (Jeanne).
Mom was born and raised in St. Boniface, the only girl with eight brothers. She decided to move to British Columbia with her best friend to work in the office of a logging camp. She came back home to work at Great West Life and married the love of her life. They built a home, cottage and taught us the joys of camping and travelling. Family was very important to her. She baked, cooked, sewed and knitted. Their home was always open, and they loved to entertain.
Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She watched their games and cheered them on, also volunteering at their schools. Giving of her time came naturally to her and spent 20 years volunteering at St. Boniface Hospital, also her church.
A Celebration of Life for Denise will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway 1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg. Those wishing to join the service by livestream may do so by visiting: greenacresfuneralhome.com
The family would like to thank Rhonda and staff at Manoir de le Cathédrale, staff at Actionmaruerite St. Vital-Unité Marguerite for their excellent care and support. We are forever grateful.
Flowers greatly declined. Donations can be made in Denise’s memory to Actionmarguerite- St. Vital.
Maman était une femme dévouée à sa famille. Ses petits enfants savaient que chez Mémé il y avait toujours de bons biscuits qui les attendaient.

Janet (Rick) and John (Darcia) my condolences on the passing of your mom. I fondly remember your mom's cookies when growing up. Had the chance to have Denise's volunteer expertise when I was at SBGH Foundation. Take care. Memories will be with you forever. - Posted by: Diane Lambert Shack (Friend of Janet) on: Oct 26, 2023

I only met Denise a few times but what a lovely lady. She was always genuinely interested in me & my girls and what we were doing. Very sad to no longer have that joy to loook forward to. But fine memories of a smiley person... - Posted by: Trevor Wilkins (Husband of Niece) on: Oct 16, 2023

John, Janet, and families, we offer you our most sincere sympathies in the loss of your beloved mom. Your mom was also a good friend always ready to give her time when needed. Denise and I had many phone calls sharing a lot of laughs, some tears. She was a real friend. John and Janet, you were blessed to have Denise as a Mom. - Posted by: Laura & Louis Cormier (Friends) on: Oct 14, 2023

My condolences to the Larocque family. Denise volunteered with Georgette for us at the Buhler Gallery of St Boniface hospital. She was a lovely person, so kind, funny and generous with her time as a volunteer. She will be missed. - Posted by: Tanya Gadd (Buhler Gallery) on: Oct 14, 2023
