GORDON EDWARD RICHARDS
We, the family of Gordon Edward Richards, announce his passing on October 11, 2023, at the age of 85.
Gordon was born in New Liskeard, Ontario, coming to Winnipeg with brothers Clayton and John to find work. He worked 19 years in the printing business, then 25 years for Boeing Canada, 14 years as union President.
Gordon and Pat made their home together treasuring the good times and working through the tough times, married 62 years. After retirement, Gordon and Pat enjoyed 17 years at Richards Roost to begin their new chapter as partners in love and dance, and everything else they enjoyed together.
Travel was extended to seeing all of Canada, USA, the Yukon, etc. Texas being his favourite.
Gordon was a Scout leader, avid hunter, hockey player and demolition derby pro. Woodworking became his hobby. Each year Gordon knitted toques for his family but hundreds to Koats for Kids.
Predeceased by parents, Henry and Levina; brothers, Norman, Clayton, John, and Robert; sisters, Pearl, Meda, Dorothy, and Ann.
Left to cherish his love and fond memories are his wife, Patricia; sons, Kennith and Thomas; grandchildren, Brock (Deanna and family) and Erin along with Garret; great-grandson Karsen along with Katherine; sister Sandra; as well as many family members and friends. His best medicine were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Dr. Dumphy and staff of the Grace Hospital for their patience and care. We would also like to thank Christine, Karen and staff of Brathwaites Pharmacy for their kindness to Gordon and our family.
Cremation has taken place, and a private family gathering will be shared at a later time.
