Due to a serious medical issue, Jeanne Cyrenne passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the age of 101.
Jeanne was predeceased by her father Louis Nicolas; mother Marie Dumont; her husband Lucien; daughter Diane Gyryluk; infant son Guy; great-grandchild baby Benjamin; sisters, Leontine, Valentine, and Therese; and bothers, Henri, Ernest, Jules, Julien, Joseph, and Eugene.
Jeanne was born on May 30, 1922 in St. Pierre Jolys, Manitoba. She worked briefly at St. Boniface Hospital and then married Lucien Cyrenne of Fannystelle, Manitoba on September 14, 1946 in Winnipeg.
Jeanne was a loving mother and spouse, terrific cook, efficient office manager for Lucien’s business, family confidant, stylish dresser, and avid sports fan.
Left to mourn is her daughter Lisa (Dave), her sons, Claude (Joan), Ron (Gloria), Philippe (Michelle), Albert and son-in-law John Gyryluk, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and hospital staff of the Victoria and Grace Hospitals and the Actionmarguerite Personal Care Home, her long time caregiver Brigit Enns for her kindness and her many friends in Kenbur Gardens Apartment.
Prayers as well as a celebration of Jeanne’s life and a reception will be held at Desjardins Funeral Home, 357 DesMeurons Street, Winnipeg on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with viewing from 1:30 pm.
A private family burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Chapel at Grace Hospital.
