It is with deep sadness that we announce Dick’s passing on October 18, 2023.

Born in Winnipeg on March 21, 1937, he worked at the Bank of Montreal from 1959 – 1978, then Betel Home in Selkirk until his retirement in 1997. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Carl and Jenny, wife, Gale and son Dean. He is survived by son Paul, sister Shirley and many nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank Dr. Brown and the staff at Selkirk Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Our deep condolences to Paul on the loss of your father and, also, other extended family members who have been very diligent in caring for Dick's needs during this difficult time. We have been close friends with the Piasecki family for over 50 years. He has shown much kindness to us and our children and we have very happy memories from times spent together. Both he and his late wife, Gale, would go above and beyond to offer help to us when needed. His genuine friendship will be deeply missed. He managed to maintain close personal relationships without cell phone, computer or internet connection. But made good use of Alexander Graham Bell's invention to maintain contact even during the height of COVID. Thanks for the memories, dear friend! You will be missed!! Affectionately, Gerry and Carol Bristow - Posted by: Gerry & Carol Bristow (long time former neighbor and friends) on: Oct 21, 2023
