ALMA JANIK
Mom passed away peacefully on October 16, 2023, at the age of 93 at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg.
She is now reunited with her husband Joe, who passed in 2017; and son-in-law Rolf, who passed earlier this year.
Alma was born in Wapella, Saskatchewan, spending her early years on the family farm until moving to Winnipeg in her late teens. She met and married Joe and they settled on Ottawa Avenue where she raised her family and spent most of her life. She later moved to River Ridge II and then to the Middlechurch Home.
She is survived by daughters, Carol, Angel (Darrell) and Heather (Mark); grandchildren, Jay (Sharmelle), Sara; and great-grandchildren, Gavin, Cassidy, and Alyx.
The family would like to thank the staff of River Ridge 2 for the many years of great care she received there and the staff of Middlechurch Home who took such great care of her in her final days.
No service will be held.
If you wish to honour her memory, a donation may be made to the Parkinson’s Society or a charity of your choice.

Wishing you all love and light during such a sad time. Alma was a kind loving woman who was always so proud of her family. Our building was better because she came here to live. We missed her when she left but understood that it was time. Sending all sorts of support and love to you all in her absence Thank You for trusting us with her all those years. - Posted by: Chassity McIntyre (Family Friend ) on: Oct 23, 2023

My deep condolences to the family for their loss. Alma was a lovely person. Whenever I had the honour to see her she was always open and friendly with a smile and a loving disposition. I know her loss will be felt by all her daughters. - Posted by: Shelley Muir (Friend) on: Oct 21, 2023
