PATRICIA LANG

It’s with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Patricia Lang (nee Rink), at the age of 71 years, at her home in Brandon, Manitoba.

Pat is survived by her children; daughter Karin (Dwayne) Stone and children Colton, Nash, and Harper; son Tim (Beth) Lang and children Ari and Morgan; sisters, Debbie (Dave) Todosichuk and Wendy Rink. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Mary, brothers Terry and Jack, and her four-legged puppy companion Zoey.

Born November 18, 1951 in Gladstone, MB, Pat married Lloyd Lang in July of 1972. Initially residing in Birnie, MB, Pat and Lloyd welcomed their two children and eventually settled on a farm west of Brandon in 1979. The early years of their marriage were filled with farming, kids' sports, traveling and socializing in support of Lloyd’s curling career. Through these events, Pat and Lloyd made lifelong friends and a vast collection of funny stories and memories.

After separating, Pat moved into Brandon and made her home in Kingham Place. She purchased a cabin at Lynch’s Point with her sister, Wendy, where they spent many happy summer evenings reading, playing Scrabble, and drinking tea.

Pat or “Mama” to Colton, Nash, Harper, Ari, and Morgan, adored her grandchildren; her soul lit up in their presence. She loved spoiling them with treats and little gifts, and regaling them with stories of their parents’ childhood shenanigans. Mama will be sadly missed, and her memory will live on in her grandchildren.

Pat found meaning and fulfillment through employment, and spent decades working at the Royal Oak (Clarion) Hotel. Pat cherished her job and friendships with her coworkers, and continued to work up until her passing.

Pat will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, sisters, and coworkers. She loved pets and reading in equal measure. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Pat’s name to the Brandon Humane Society, 2200-17th Street East, Brandon, MB, R7A 7M6, or Western Manitoba Regional Library, 710 Rosser Ave, Unit 1, Brandon, MB, R7A 0K9. A private service celebrating Pat’s life will be held at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • We are so very saddened to hear of Pat’s sudden passing. We have so many fond memories of the times we spent with them when they lived around Birnie. We will never forget all the celebrations we shared with them at the Red Oak and our children often reminisce about those functions. Our hearts go out to Karen and Tim and their families, we know how very important they all were to Pat. Our very sincere condolences she will be sorely missed by many.
