JAMES KEITH FARMER
It is with great sadness that I announce the tragic passing of Jim Farmer on October 21, 2023. He was 81 years old.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, in-laws, grandson, and his wife.
Jim was born and raised in Winnipeg and spent many summers in Ponemah, where he spent the last two years of his life.
He married the love of his life, Carolyn, in 1964. Jim was a teacher for 29 years, after he retired he and Carolyn moved to Gimli. They quickly became involved in the community and were well known and respected. After his wife’s passing in 2020, Jim was filling the void of her loss by spending time visiting Betel, and working on little projects. He moved back to Ponemah and lived there until his passing.
Jim is survived by his four children, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, his brother, sisters-in-law and brother-in-law.
A service followed by reception will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB

So sorry to hear of Mr. Farmer's passing. I was his student for only half of Grade 3 at Sun Valley Elementary, but he was one of the best teachers I ever had. I remember him as being just a kind, sweet person, all of the kids loved him, with a great sense of humor. He really just made all of the students feel special and important. He will be missed. - Posted by: Christa Schmidtke (Meier) (Former student) on: Nov 07, 2023
