SHANNON NEUSTATER

(nee LANOWAY)

It is with heavy hearts and much love we mourn the passing of Shannon Neustater of Oakbank, MB, on November 6, 2023.
Left to cherish her memory husband Ken, son Landon, sisters, Sherry Hofer (Curtis), Tracey Conboy (David), Reg Lanoway (Shane), parents Robert and Virginia Lanoway, nephews, Liam, Owain, Dymetro, numerous family members, colleagues and friends.
Shannon was born on August 31, 1973, to Robert and Virginia Lanoway. She grew up on a farm in Beausejour, driving tractors, machinery, and helping on the family farm and construction company. She was the oldest of four children and she was always boldly blazing the trail for her siblings to follow.
She married Ken on July 22, 2006. They loved to go on trips to visit family and enjoy spending time together, cooking and entertaining.
Landon was born 2008 and they spent much of their time together. Shannon loved being a mother and wife and they enjoyed living in Oakbank these last nine years. Chico, their dog, was never very far from Shannon, he was her constant companion. He loved his naps beside her and cuddles.
Shannon enjoyed her teaching career for the last 23 years, working in a variety of schools, currently serving as Oakbank Elementary school Vice Principal, Oakbank Middle Years School, Beausejour Early Years School, and Anola Elementary. She worked in a variety of positions, loving the connections she made with everyone. As she honed her skills, she blossomed with confidence in each role she took on.
Shannon put others first and was always there to lend a hand, and make her famous lasagna for people that were going through a hard time or in need of cheering up.
Shannon was one of a kind and irreplaceable. Her passing leaves a big void in all our lives. We are blessed to have shared this life with her. We will always hold the memories of the time we spent together.
A Memorial Service is planned for Wednesday, November 15 at 10:30 a.m. at Brokenhead River Community Hall, 320 Veterans Lane, Beausejour, MB.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Diabetes Canada or the Playground Fund that is being developed in her honour, for more information contact Sherry Hofer at shofer268@icloud.com

  • It was a absolute pleasure working with Shannon. She always greeted you with a Beautiful smile and often shared a short storey. I loved hearing the stories of her and her sister growing up, running all different types of large machinery, and building roads for their dads business. About a month ago, Shannon shared with me what a wonderful summer holiday she had vacationing with her family. You will be extremely missed, never replaced, but you will never be forgotten❤️ - Posted by: Jolene Byers (Co-worker) on: Nov 19, 2023
